Abstract

Abstract: Dental implants are subjected to torsional strain during the insertion into the oral cavity. The analysis of maximum and minimum torsion suffered by a dental implant before their loosening or breakage is fundamental for the implantodontia, because if these torsions is not observed the success of the operation is low. Through analysis of the torsion of dental implant can be avoid that during their fixation into the cortical bone of the oral cavity does not occur its fracture or its loosening and also to occur a good primary stability; this will only be possible if the force applied to the implant is adequate . Thus an objective of this work will be to evaluate the mechanical behavior of dental implants submitted to manual torsion; another goal is to conduct a comparative analysis of the surface of the implants subjected to scanning electron microscopy (SEM) before and after submission to the torsion test, for by SEM is possible to perform the observation and characterization of different types of materials from the emission and interaction of electron beams on a sample, being possible to characterize them in terms of their morphology and their ultra structural organization in obtaining images with high resolution, this is fundamental for activities of research and diagnostics. Five implants will be used of the brand Master Screw, five of the brand Master Porous implants, five of the brand Master Conect AR, and five of the brand Conect Cônicos . The implants will be observed before the mechanical torsion test in SEM, then they will be subjected to mechanical torsion testing manual and soon after the mechanical testing its surface will be re-evaluated in the SEM to see what strain he suffered on its surface is that deformation gives the bone surface.
