Abstract

The interference caused by weeds is one of the factors that may cause the reduction in productivity of chickpeas (Cicer arietinum L.) due to its effects on growth and yield components of culture. Ecological studies of communities and knowledge of weed interference period become critical to the viability and effectiveness of the production chick-peas in Brazil, providing the development of programs for weed management. Thus, the purpose of this study is to determine the critical periods of weed interference in coexistence with the culture of chick-peas, in response to two doses of nitrogen mineral fertilizer topdressing (50 and 75 kg ha-1). For each dose the experimental systems used will be a randomized block with treatments consisted of increasing periods (0, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 56, 63 and 84 days after sowing) of coexistence or weed control plants with chick-peas, in a factorial 2 x 10, totaling 20 treatments in four replications. In the weed community will be evaluated dry matter, the specific composition and phytosociological studies (Der, DoR, RF and IR). For the culture of chick-peas will be calculated grain yield, percentage loss in yield and critical periods of interference (PAI PTPI and CPIC).
