The aim of this study is evaluate the cardiovascular risk in obese patients with chronic periodontitis compared to obese subjects without periodontal disease. Will be included patients with average age between 30 and 55 years, patients with body mass index (BMI) ³ 30, with and without chronic periodontitis. After signing the consent form, study participants will be divided into two groups: Group I - obese with chronic periodontitis and Group II - obese without chronic periodontitis. Patients will be submitted to analysis of the oral cavity, considering the periodontal parameters such as visible plaque index (VPI), gingival bleeding index (GBI), probing depth (PD), clinical attachment level (CAL) and bleeding on probing (SS). Laboratory Tests include total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein - HDL and low density - LDL, triglycerides and glucose. In addition, frequency of physical activity and systolic and diastolic pressure will be evaluate. The laboratory and clinical data will be used as a basis for analysis the risk of cardiovascular disease by using the Framingham score. For statistical analysis, the data will be tabulated and submitted to normality tests (Shapiro-Wilk test) and further exploratory analysis to determine the possible statistical tests.
