Abstract

Grafting is used effectively for the cultivation of commercial fruit species, since it is necessary to ensure the genetic characteristics of species production with the use of selected clones. Furthermore, the use of rootstocks resistant pathogens in soil is important when working with species such as atemoya (Annona squamosa L. x Annona cherimola Mill.). However, despite the common technique of grafting to be widespread, the mechanisms of compatibility/incompatibility in woody fruit are not well understood. Thus, the objective of this project is to study the compatibility of grafting atemoya (Annona squamosa L. x Annona cherimoya Mill.) grafted on species Araticum-mirim [Annona emarginata (Schltdl.) H. Rainer "variedade mirim"] and Araticum-de-terra-fria (Annona emarginata (Schltdl.) H. Rainer "variedade terra-fria"] aiming at the seedlings for growing field. There will be five collections (0, 7, 30, 60 and 90 days after grafting - DAE) for evaluations molecular (gene expression and enzymatic activity of UDP-glucose pyrophosphorylase); gas exchanges (carbon assimilation, carboxylation, water use efficiency, stomatal conductance, carbon concentration inside and transpiration rate), biochemical [quantification of total phenolics and peroxidase activity (POD, EC 1.11.1.7 )], anatomical analyzes (histological sections of the grafted region), biometric analysis (height, length, diameter, leaf number, leaf area, dry weight of leaf, stem and root) and nutritional analyzes (macronutrients and micronutrients) of leaf tissue. Data will be subjected to analysis of variance (F test) and means compared by Tukey test at 5% probability, and are tested for polynomial regression when needed
