Abstract

The work we would like to present to FAPESP is linked to gravitational dynamics, and particularly to Celestial Mechanics. With the advent of modem observational means, new populations of satellites and asteroids are found in the Solar System. These new objects, like the outer satellites of giant planets or the satellites of asteroids, are subject to perturbations that are usually neglected when dealing with classical objects. For most of these new satellites, these perturbations come from bodies which are orbiting about different masses than the satellites (epyciclic motions). As there are no analytical formulations for these perturbations, they need a special treatment. The aim of this work is thus to find analytical ways to express these perturbations and to study their influence on the motion of these newly found objects. This work has also strong implications in the study of the motion of classical bodies whose analytical formulations are still not known, for example the case of near earth asteroids perturbed by the Moon. In addition to the above ideas, we also intend to develop some research related to possible mechanisms to damp the excited values of the eccentricity and inclination of the regular satellites. During the planetary migration (the Nice model), due to several dose approaches, collisions, etc, the eccentricity and inclination of the regular satellites can reach values which are not compatibles with the current ones.
