Abstract

The sulfides generally have various applications, such as photoluminescence, electro-optics, electroluminescence, photo catalysis, among others. The calcium sulfide (CaS) has interesting properties such as high luminescence, with applications in television screens, lamps, phosphorescence, etc. However, for such applications, it is necessary to consider some factors regarding the formation of this compound, mainly including: high purity, control over the morphology and formation of a monodisperse system. In principle, it is expected that changes in morphology and size of calcium sulfide nanostructures result in improvements in their physical and chemical properties. This fact, which can promote the use of this material to develop new technological applications. Therefore, this work aims to study and analyze the synthesis of nanostructures through the CaS processing method solvothermal assisted by microwaves. These materials will be characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy electron gun with field emission (FEG-SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX). In this project, is also analyzed the formation mechanism of the morphologies of the synthesized materials obtained. (AU)
