Abstract

This research aims to study the ways in which the Labour Court System (JT) articulated the experiences of workers and unions, between 1954-1963, through the analysis of collective bargaining cases located at the 2nd Regional Labor Court of São Paulo. My focus is on the uses of the Consolidation of Labour Legislation (CLT) and the JT as instruments of working class struggle, especially in times of outbreak of strike movements, and, conversely, on the procedures of the JT in relation to the pressures of collective workers.
