Abstract

The current agricultural practices require the knowledge of soil properties variability in the detailed and ultra-detailed scale. Among other factors, the accuracy of this mapping is related to the number of samples, so the costs Involved, a great deal of time and work and the need for human resources with high technical potential makes the characterization of the variability of soil properties and crop in more practically unenforceable detailed scales. In this context, the goal is to investigate the potential of magnetic susceptibility and the diffuse reflectance spatial variability of physical and chemical properties of soil in a detailed. These results may help in the areas of management mapping specific to cane sugar, which would be equivalent to future series of soils SiBCS. An area of approximately 911 hectares will be chosen. A regular grid with a density of 1 sample point per 2 acres will be made. They will be collected soil samples at depths of 0.0-0.2m and 0.2-0.4m to assess the physical, chemical, magnetic susceptibility and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Samples from sugar cane production will also be collected to characterize the attributes of stems, pol% and lint percentage. The data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics, geostatistics and multivariate data. The results will be interpreted considering concepts of soil-landscape.
