COnsidering the scarcity of studies in tropical streams and their high sensitivity to human action, this study aims to provide support data for environmental conservation programs. The objective will be to identify changes in the structure of fish assemblages caused by urbanization. This goal will be achieved by analyzing the composition, diversity, trophic structure and body condition of the fish caught in upper Paranapanema river basin. The collections will take place using eletro fishing device in the dry season, in streams that are near and far from urban areas. Will be measured variables that make up the structure of the environment and chemical properties of water, such as width, depth, current velocity, bottom type, pH, temperature and conductivity. The fish collected will be identified and prosecuted for obtaining data as total and standard length, weight, stomach repletion degree and fat accumulated degree in the visceral cavity. To measure the species diversity will be calculated the following index: Shannon diversity, Margalef richness and Pielou evenness. For the diet study will be used the Degree of Food Preference. Will be checked the diet breadth, applying the Pielou evenness index, and niche overlap between species, by applying the Pianka index. The condition factor will be analyzed from the weight and length relationships through an analysis of covariance. (AU)
