Abstract

The agricultural sector is the major driver of the Brazilian economy, being responsible for much of the brazilian PIB and the country has great potential for growth of agricultural production. However, the occurrence of various pests in the field and in storage prejudices the production of different crops. To achieve more productivity gains is necessary to develop techniques to control pests such as leaf-cutting antes and maize weevil that cause serious damage to national production. Thus, there is the need for searching compounds with insecticidal properties that contribute to the development of commercial insecticides to be applied in the crops. The actual researches are based on the search for compounds with these properties in nature. Based on this idea the project proposes the phytochemical study of plants of the family Anacardiaceae (Spondias dulcis) and Annonaceae (Annona montana Rollinia and mucosa) associated with the control of leaf-cutting ants and maize weevil, since there are many reports in literature about the insecticidal activity of these families. In addition, this project also proposes the development of nanoencapsulation processes that improve the effectiveness of residual insecticides and promote the stability of the active ingredients against degradation in the environment, increasing the insecticidal action of these substances.
