Abstract

Nowadays the access to technique and technology required for manufacturing electronic music instruments attracts musicians and other artists who are not only concerned with using these instruments but also creating and recreating them in a particular way along with their own resounding. The so-called handmade electronic music instruments are in development by artists who seek to amplify possibilities of sound and interaction between gesture and many other interfaces of manipulating electronic sounds. Our intention with this project is to carry out a work intending on the study of electronic components and their relation; besides developing skills to use these instruments from the assimilation of its sonorous prospects and gestures required for its manipulation. The final effort is an electronic music instrument (analogic) which will make part of the music improvisation works developed in the Laboratory for Construction of Musical Instruments at the Arts and Communication Department of São Carlos Federal University (UFSCar). We consider that this project of scientific initiation will enlarge the technical and conceptual referential concerning this subject and attend to forthcoming research related to handmade electronic music instruments and their creating possibilities.(AU)
