Abstract

In Sao Paulo, public hiring of teachers occurs in a peculiar way, especially when it comes to temporary teachers. With a considerable number of teachers in this situation, the State Department of Education of São Paulo (SEE / SP) has been innovating in the process of admission of temporary teachers, changing a situation that has remained relatively stable since the enactment of Law 500/74. This research intends to discuss the changes undertaken in the hiring of temporary teachers in the state of São Paulo from 2007 that led to the creation of different classes and different types of work contracts. It is also an object of this investigation to assess the possible impacts of this variety of laws on hiring the pedagogical work and school organization. To conduct the survey will be made semi-structured interviews with different categories of temporary teachers, as required by law in São Paulo, in addition to any teachers, as well as an analysis of documents (laws, decrees, ordinances, and resolutions). This research seeks to identify the current legislation in the different categories that are organized temporary teachers, OFA, and possible, to identify the region studied, the frequency of temporary teachers in the year, employment status, check the way these statutes different procurement can impact the work of teaching and school organization and, finally, identify key needs and difficulties faced by temporary teachers.
