Abstract

Noise is considered the most common occupational hazard and Hearing Loss Noise-Induced Occupational, the most frequent occupational disease that progresses over years of exposure to noise associated with the workplace can cause damage that impair the physical, physiological and mental individual. The noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) is the occupational disease defined as a gradual decrease in hearing acuity resulting from continuous exposure to high levels of sound pressure, which cause irreversible hearing damage and higher incidence not only in Brazil but around the world interfering with communication and quality of life. With high male prevalence, it is estimated that it is the second leading cause of hearing loss. Since there is no medical treatment for this type of hearing loss, it is evident the importance of preventive and conferences aimed at the conservation of hearing and health as a whole. This study aims to investigate the main hearing of young people who engaged in technical courses in the area of mechanics that have not yet entered the labor market. Given these measures will serve to establish educational and/or prevention in this population.(AU)
