Abstract

The biochemical reactions of blood coagulation must be strictly regulated to prevent excessive activation of the system. The operating activity of proteinases in the activation of coagulation is regulated by several inhibitory proteins, which act as natural anticoagulants. Hematophagous animals have developed a wide range of substances that are injected into the host through the saliva and inhibit haemostatic reactions at the site where they feed. Therefore, biologically active proteins and peptides present in living organisms has been under investigation by the potential utility for the development of drugs of biological origin, for therapeutic purposes. With the advent of biotechnology to generate cDNA libraries has become an important tool for the study of these molecules, it allows the study of rare fabrics and biochemical characterization difficult. This project aims the study of protein molecules salivary gland Haementeria vizottoi, to continue the work of Oliveira (2011), we intend to construct a cDNA library in order to validate the results of sequencing and characterization of proteins already reported by our group.
