Abstract

Observing the present moment in which the world is regarding the economy and especially on consumption started around three decades, realize that increased the energy consumption and the same amount of air pollution because the source of energy come from fossil fuels. Then arises the need to use a new energy source that is cleaner the predecessor, with that begins a desperate race known by "clean" energy as wind power, biomass and ethanol from sugarcane, it changes the energy production in Brazil and energy from hydroelectric begin to divide this new moment with alcohol. This purpose, this research aims conduct a spatial-temporal the use and soil occupation for sugarcane, in the municipality of Boa Esperança do Sul-SP, considering the decades of 1970, 1990 and 2010, highlighting their implications for spatial configuration of the city landscape. So using GIS techniques and geographic information systems to counteract, combine an cross categories of analyses of city landscape, present a synthesis mapping the current condition of the landscape, which have forms of the past and present having as determinates the historical interests, political and economic societies where responding, because, well as the factor that motivated these changes in an attempt to demystify the social function of the map are the desired results for this search.
