Abstract

This research project proposed at the doctoral level will be developed by the Research Group of New Materials and Applications, Faculty of Science and Technology Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology, UNESP, Presidente Prudente, aims through the development of composites the mixture of residual bovine leather (RC) thermoplastic elastomers (TPE). The thermoplastic elastomer to be used will be produced by copolymerization of low density polyethylene (LDPE) with natural rubber (BN), obtained from the latex of rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis clone) with a sulfur-based formulation and coupling agents , aimed at curing the NR so you can get the best properties. It is intended to obtain this composite generate a material with physical and chemical properties which may be used in manufacturing automobile parts, gears, among others. With this new material, the focus is also a direct application to the residue of cowhide, which is an abundant and undesirable material generated in the manufacturing of leather, which can cause serious environmental damage due to chromium in its structure.
