Abstract

Recently, biomaterials have been studied in the search for endodontic use of a material that can effectively plugging the root canal system, inhibiting or eliminating residual bacteria, preventing re-contamination with a suitable sealing and facilitating repair even in an environment periapical moist. The objective of this study is to develop and characterize a composite fillings based endodontic gutta-percha and niobium/phosphate glass containing calcium and sodium that will be obtained from the fusion of mixtures of ammonium hydroxide di-basic calcium oxide, sodium oxide and niobium oxide at 1400 ° C for 1 hour. Several tests will be performed in vitro using extracted human teeth to evaluate the bond strength of composite to dentin by testing ¼push-out, and analyzing the fracture pattern, and observing the patterns of nanoleakage interfaces via Scanning Electron Microscopy and Transmission. It is hoped that this composite one effective sealing the root canal system in a humid environment, reinforced by the formation of hydroxyapatite in dentin interface / filling without the use of any sealer.The data obtained from the test results will be tabulated and subjected to statistical analysis on the 5% level of significance.
