Abstract

This scientific initiation project intends to realize the chemistry study of endophytic microbiota of Vochysia divergens Pohl (Vochysiaceae), a native food species from Pantanal Biome. This region has been selected for study within the Regular Research Project "Bioactive compounds from medicinal and food plants of the Cerrado and Pantanal and their endophytic microbiota (Fapesp Process # 2011/00631-5). The phytochemistry research will be bioassay-guided by the schistosomicidal in vitro assay. The schistosomicidal test will be held to evaluate the life cycle of the Schistosoma mansoni vector. The analytical methodologies will employ chromatography techniques (CC, PTLC, GC-MS, HPLC-DAD). The chemical structures of the isolated compounds will the assign on the bases of 1D and 2D NMR experiments. Thus, the main goal of this proposal will be to identify the potential schistosomicidal of natural compounds, as well as contribute to the human resource formation in the natural product area in the country.(AU)
