The multicomponent reaction (RMCs) are defined as a process in which three or more reagents combine in a single reaction "pot", forming a product with features of each reagent used, with good structure complexity and in only one step.Various catalysts (metals, acids or enzymatics) can be utilized for the occurrence of RMCs. In this project we propose to study the application of niobium compounds in multicomponent Povarov reaction, checking in details the effect of temperature and molar concentration of these reagents in these reactions. The comparison of efficiency, proportion of the products formed and reaction time of niobium compounds utilized with others reagents will also be fundamental point of the research.The reactions we propose to study in this work are the reactions for the preparation of tetrahydroquinolines, these compounds presents a high pharmacological interest, having applicability as anti-cancer drug and also in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. We propose in this project the use of different niobium compounds to obtaining these compounds, through of reaction between aniline derivatives, benzaldehyde and different dienophiles.The niobium compounds target of our studies are: Nb(OEt)5 and its chiral derivatives, using different chiral terpenic alcohols as enantioselective helpers.
