Abstract

This work aims to prepare and characterize fluoroindates glasses containing lanthanide ions and study their optical properties in relation to energy transfer between lanthanide ions. We intend to study in the first part of the work, different systems that can sensitize the emission of Yb3+ ion in the region of 954 nm through classical luminescence processes, upconversion and down conversion of energy. The second step involves testing the best materials as modifiers of the solar spectrum to raise awareness of silicon photovoltaic cells and harness the region of the spectrum not used by the common cells.
