Since the mid-70, with the expansion of cultural and ideologic transformations of the contemporary capitalist societies, the social theories, in diverse areas of human sciencies, meet new and complex challenges. From then, a relatively new cultural logic has been consolidated changing the possible conditions of reflections and debates in social sciences. In this context are created new possibilities of lectures and receptions of authors of the past, wich are interpreted from the present. From the social-historic problematic of reception, the goal of this project is to analyse sociologically an especific aspect of the trajectory of two important intelectualls that, on the border between social sciences and politcs philosofy, are responsable for two of the most original contemporary lectures/receptions of the work of Walter Benjamin: Michael Löwy e Daniel Bensaïd. Accordind to the hypothesis that will be developed in this project, the originality of their interpretative perspectives may be found in the way they stand themselves - through the relecture of Walter Benjamin work - around the debates on crises (and critic) thematics of modernity. The theme of the critic of modernity is therefore a mediation through which is expected to determine - exposing the "social view of the world" commun to both authors - the dialectics links between the immanent analysis of the text and the investigation of social-historic context (that is not an ilustrative material only) in wich their theoric productions are developed.
