Abstract

The objective of this research is to understand the uses of the Brazilian territory since the 1970s, when the information becomes a key variable. In this context, the consulting firms intensify their action in the national territory as important agents on the production and diffusion of information. Therefore, to understand this new industry of specialized services, also known as informational or quaternary, we intend to investigate the typology of the information produced and diffused by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu firm, as well as the conformation of its office network in the Brazilian territory. It is also our interest to understand the role of the metropolis of São Paulo in the contemporary period as the country's informational center, which hosts the main office of the member-firm Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. Deloitte operates in Brazil as and auditing firm since 1911 and currently provides consulting services auditing, financial advisory, risk management and tax consulting.(AU)
