Abstract

The aim of this study is to ponder over the reuse process of the railroad historical assets by studying the social uses of the railway heritage in Campinas and São Paulo. Based on Campinas Stations (Guanabara Station, Companhia Paulista Station, Tanquinho Station and Anhumas Station) we will do a case study by collecting information about the use of these stations. This study will take into account not only if there is any preservation project but also if it includes the tourist use of the stations. About the methodology we will study the bibliography to help us find information about the stations and we will also visit them to check their real preservation state. The data will be collected in different entities (Campinas Town Hall, Universidade Estadual de Campinas and Associacao Brasileira de Preservaçao ferroviária) by using interviews previously elaborated. We will also go to Conselho de Patrimonio Artistico e Arquitetônico de Campinas, Guanabara Station and Campinas Tourism office to take some documents concerning these stations. The tourist use will be analysed by dividing it into two parts: station infrastructure and kind of visitors, which will be done by a written set of questions. (AU)
