Geological materials (rocks, sediment and soil) have natural concentrations of various chemical elements, such as volcanoes that spew large amounts of metals in eruption. This project is based on studying the relationship among the level of concentration of chemical elements in geological materials of the State of São Paulo and its impact on human health, the assessment of possible toxicity to humans. By creating a public database for easy reproducibility, may be identified differences among each place, anomalies and patterns of environmental quality natural rocks, sediments and soil. The study is based on a toxicological review of chemicals and cases reported in the State of Sao Paulo. As main result of the project, we can diagnose the toxicity present in rocks, sediments and soils from São Paulo to support important public decisions about the welfare of the population.
