Colorectal Cancer tends to increase with population aging reaching currently 1 million cases with 500.000 deaths around the world. In Brazil, the estimation is 28.110 new cases with 11.322 deaths that make this kind of neoplasia the fourth cause of death in the country. Such the new case as the death rates reaches in equal proportions men and women tending slightly to women. Within this reality, there are several methods for colorectal cancer screening. However, most of them are a highly expensive and great inconvenience to the patient. Therefore, is necessary the development of new methods of screening for this kind of Cancer. Objectives: quantification of human DNA extracted from stool samples. Comparison between quantification methods by fluorescence and amplification also, analysis of the DNA obtained from the stool of colorectal cancer patients. Casuistry and Methods: 150 patients will be analyzed, divided into two groups: individuals without cancer diagnosis who form the control group, and patients with colorectal cancer and polyp, which form the case group. PCR Real Time will be utilized, through the quantification method by amplification of specific sequences of DNA (Quantifier Human Standard - Applied Systems) and by comparison between these groups, observe the possibility of this protocol as a diagnosis method.
