This project aims to study three aspects of collaborations from Africa to the Almanach de Lembranças Luso-Brasileiro during the period 1878 to 1898: nativism, protonationalism and the reference to the portuguese metropolis. The method for achieving this purpose is an analysis under the assumptions of Comparative Studies of Portuguese Language Literatures combined with primary research material to be collected the copies of the Almanach de Lembranças Luso-Brasileiro. From this research of production relative to those contributions, together with the study of some of the texts, I seek to analyze the elements of the nineteenth-century literary expressions in Portuguese Language Africa.I try to investigate whether these literary expressions in Portuguese Language Africa during the second half of the nineteenth century are part of an aesthetic project of literary creation and an ideology that guided the intellectual initiatives for the consolidation of Portuguese African literature in the twentieth century. This research aims to work aspects have already alluded to by some scholars and critics of African literature in Portuguese Language, but has not yet been the subject of a specific study, as I propose to accomplish. One of the contributions provided by this study is the systematic collection of literary and African Portuguese Language in the Almanach de Lembranças Luso-Brasileiro during the 1880s and 1890s, and disclosure of relevant importance of this material for teaching literary historiography.
