Abstract

The project´s main objective is to deepen the understanding of one of the less acquainted works of Celso Furtado - the book Underdevelopment and Stagnation in Latin America, both from the point of view of its importance in Celso Furtado´s history and work and his theory of underdevelopment, as from its association with other contemporary Latin American economy thinkers. In addition, the project intends to understand why Furtado reached a diagnosis of stagnation in a decade of overall growth. The study will be done through readings, notes, reviews, and interviews, which will be consolidated in the final text.(AU)
