Abstract

This project aims to analyze Brazil's Foreign Policy between 2004 and 2011 towards the Middle East with a focus on the Israel-Palestine Question. The analysis will be made from the actions of Brazil through the state's Permanent Mission to the UN in the period covered by the two Brazilian terms as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council (UNSC) under Lula's government and the first year of the Dilma Rousseff's government. The research will consist in a report of the meetings that discussed the Israel-Palestine Question in the UNSC and the General Assembly (UNGA) particularly analyzing the discourse of Brazil facing the other countries, the results of votes taken and resolutions adopted. As sources will be used the minutes of meetings, voting results and resolutions of the UNSC, transcripts of diplomatic speeches from Brazil on the issue of Middle East and news published in newspapers and magazines.(AU)
