This research aims to study the stories told by the families of the city of hillbillies Caçapava-SP, considering the complex system of relationships of socio-cultural communities as a major factor in the construction of the meaning of their narratives. In this context, the causo is simply the expression of a specific type of knowledge consists in its structure, the organization of symbolic elements that expresses recognition of tensions arising from the manifestation of the memory of individuals who weave their relations in border areas between the specific cultural tradition of family and neighborly and places where crops dominate mass technocrat and erudite.
