Abstract

This study aims to develop and validate analytical methods for the application of metalomic in identifying potential biomarkers of diabetes in plasma and liver tissue of rats. For the primary purpose to be achieved, the project has a multi-institutional team (UNESP and UNICAMP), aimed at developing two dimensional electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gel (2D-PAGE) for fractionation and identification of proteins in diabetes and analytical methods, qualitative and quantitative evaluation of protein spots. The findings may provide subsidies in the scientific-technical health of the utmost importance, enabling the development of new strategies for prevention and treatment of diabetes. The possible identification of biomarkers characterizes the originality of the project and will provide a springboard for the study of metalomic related to diabetes mellitus may provide valuable information on the elucidation of the physiological and functional aspects of biomolecules in biological samples such as plasma and liver tissue. The unprecedented nature of the proposal will also provide scientific and technological contributions are extremely relevant, for example, development of new treatments for disease, as well as means for its prevention.
