Abstract

The present research has the purpose to show how group practices can contribute to a significant musical experience in different contexts of the recorder learning, and how the musical knowledge of these practices can be developed through this instrument. During the history, recorder has taken a multiple functions, since been an artistic instrument - sometimes been highlights as a group instrument, sometimes as a soloist - to sometimes been a teaching instrument, coming to be degraded by unprepared musical professionals who teach it. Nowadays in Brazil, it's possible to notice a shiny but increasing valorizing of the Recorder as an artistic instrument, as it was before, and while a musical instrument owner of multiples possibilities to be explored in the musical education of children and adolescent. Meanwhile, many recorder groups stand out in several formations, related to performance as much as pedagogical practices. We intend to investigate these groups, with the intention to contribute the research on Recorder, and looking for the valorization of this musical instrument, that although it's one of the oldest instruments, and been largely used at schools, it's full of stereotypes.
