An electromagnetic equipment designer seeks the device improvement, but always faces situations that demand a huge amount of decision making. Due to this scenario, the utilization of optimization methods based on Genetic Algorithms or Differential Evolution are becoming very popular in Engineering Projects, particularly those of electromagnetic devices. During the devices modeling process, an analytical or numerical description becomes necessary for the machine operation be correctly understood. Therefore, in the question of the calculation of electromagnetic fields, tools as Finite Elements Method for the modeling, analysis and description of the problem are highly demanded. This three-month internship aims to achieve knowledge through the implementation of algorithms based on the paradigm of the Differential Evolution in a platform of optimization called "Featuring a Global Optimization Tool" (FGOT), developed in the G2Elab laboratory that belongs to the Institute National Polytechnique of Genoble, in France, place where the research will be realized abroad. This platform has a direct communication with the software of finite elements Flux2D, so the step of determining the approximation of the objective function will be no longer necessary, so the process of analyzing the project of electromagnetic equipment will increase the precision. Therefore the student will develop other abilities when adopting different strategies to solve the same problem. (AU)
