Abstract

Recent reports on organic acids and biohydrogen obtaining through anaerobic acidogenic processes showed that therophilic conditions could improve systems stability. The hydrolysis of sugarcane bagasse also requeres high temperatures to be carried out, so the thermophilic anaerobic processes could be an interesting alternative in processing this residues to obtain biohydrogen and organic fat acids. Also, the iron ion (Fe3+) in a known nutrient which could improve both the eficiency ans stability of anaerobic process. In this sense, the present project pretends to study both effects of mesophilic and thermophilic conditions over the biohydrogen and organic acids production through anaerobic acidogenic processes using sugarcane hydrolisate as carbon source.
