Abstract

Initially, this project aims to analyze the female character in some short stories by the Italian writer Alberto Moravia. According to the research corpus, the analysis of these characters will be made through the following stories: "L'orgia", "Venduta and complete", "Portacenere", "La cosa più terribile della vita", "Temporale e Fulmine" and "Parlare per Vivere". After a detailed and individual analysis of the short stories, we will make a comparative analysis in order to establish the possible relationships among these narratives. We aim to highlight the relationship between the possible points of contact in these stories; in order to have subsidies for a reflection on the female character portrayed by Moravia throughout his short narrative. Therefore, we will also use the theoretical resources available, such as Sociological Criticism - for the analysis of the characters - and Structuralism - for the analysis of the short stories' narrators.(AU)
