Abstract

Adolescents involved in bullying either bullied or the bully or even just witnessing them can have problems in the professional or in the psychological field, resulting in emotional damage, psychosomatic disorders, lack of self-confidence and pessimism. Furthermore, financial and social damages caused by bullying affect the families, schools and also the society: children and teenagers involved are likely to require multiple services, such as mental health, childhood and adolescence legal support, special education and social programs. Hence the importance of knowing more about adolescents involved in bullying, their social and affective network: only thus can effective programs of prevention and against this practice be performed. Objective: describe the profile and correlate students and parents of students involved in bullying behavior. Subject and methods: after the parents sign the informed consent form, a questionnaire consisting of 30 questions to students from 6th to ninth grade from two public schools in Americana (SP), one in downtown where the students interact only in the school, and another in the periphery, where the students interact either inside the school or outside in their community. Another survey with 17 questions, all of them of multiple choices, will be performed with parents. This project was approved by our local Ethics Committee and by the head of the school involved. Expected contribution: This study will allow evaluating the differences in frequency of bullying between different school profiles. This the characterization of the students involved in the practice of bullying and their parents, we expect to get subsidies for the development of programs to prevent and combat this practice, along with school and parents, thus contributing to the formation of adults less focused on violence.(AU)
