Abstract

This study aims to assess the contributions of the National Week of Science and Technology (SNCT) in the popularization of scientific knowledge. Founded in 2004, during the administration Luis Inacio Lula da Silva's activities are expanded and diversified Week each year, mobilizing more public interest in the scientific and technological knowledge. Understanding the role of the Week in the formation of scientific culture of Brazil is one of the main objectives of this project. It also attempts to chronicle the evolution of SNCT (2004-2012), identifying its multiple forms of di-vulgação of Science, Technology and Innovation, its operating mechanisms and participation in society.
