Abstract

The assessment of sustainability is an opportunity to identify what a particular institution has performed in terms of sustainability, and assess how these measures have been effective, and for that assessment tools are needed. Universities worldwide have chosen criteria and indicators based on international methodologies and they have made adaptations front of their realities. The aim of this study is to find the criteria and environmental indicators that can reflect the sustainability of the EESC (School of Engineering of Sao Carlos) considering its specificity and applicability of a given indicator. For this aim, will be used benchmarking of existing reports in the database of the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) and study the feasibility of applying the Ecological Footprint for universities. The work will be developed through discussion and analysis of the views of experts on the theme on the campus of USP in São Carlos, finally, there will be a workshop bringing together and discussing the various points of view. As a result, will be developed a document with the environmental criteria and indicators most relevant and applicable to the reality of EESC. (AU)
