Abstract

The research will use 10 spleens of anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyla), young and adults of both sexes, from the Department of Clinical Surgical of Wild Animals (SACCAS), Veterinary Hospital "Dr. Atique Halim ", located in Sao Jose do Rio Preto, which maintains a partnership with the Environmental Police of São Paulo, Fire Brigade and IBAMA (Brazilian Institute of Environment and Natural Resources). The present work aims at studying the topography and irrigation of the spleen of Myrmecophaga tridactyla, providing a better scientific knowledge aimed at professionals working with this species and provide important information for better understanding of the anatomy of this species. The material will be frozen and processed to be made to identification the structures and the nomenclature will be followed according to the Veterinary Anatomical Nomina 5th Edition (2005). (AU)
