Abstract

The skin is a complex system and essential to the integrity of the body and made a highly differentiated protective barrier. The discontinuity in this system promotes a scar. After injury total epithelial renewal depends on several intermediate stages and overlapping, such as inflammation (exudative phase), reconstruction (proliferative phase), epithelialization (regenerative phase), and maturation. The phase's evolution depends on cell migration, vasoconstriction, angiogenesis, granulation tissue, and deposit of extracellular matrix. This project aims to compare the effect on wound healing of hydroalcoholic and copaiba oil in different concentrations and different moments on day 3rd, 7 the, and 21 th after skin lesion. Therefore, the wound healing was analyzed by macroscopic and microscopic parameters and the mechanism of action by hydroalcoholic and copaiba oil. We will analyze the cell area, local fibrosis and in terms of immunohistochemical for cell proliferation factor (PCNA), epidermal growth factor (EGF), and expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), and examined toxicity for liver and kidney pathways during the experimental period.(AU)
