Abstract

The electrochemical research group of Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho Campus of Araraquara, led by Professor Dr. Maria Valnice Boldrin, has developed over the years various methodologies to promote the degradation of dyes from textile and food sectors using various catalytic materials of nanometric structure-based TiO2. Continuing with this line of research we are investigating new materials capable of increasing the capacity of absorption of radiation in the visible region of the solar spectrum through structural modifications on the surface of TiO2. In this context, it is intended to prepare materials nanotubulares TiO2 using the technique of anodic oxidation and modify its surface by inserting Sb2S3 particles in order to increase the percentage of absorption in the visible region, thereby increasing the performance of the catalyst the process of degradation of dyes used in the cosmetics sector.
