The present study is inserted in the scope of the Research Project "Restoration of degraded mining combining techniques soil bioengineering with the generation and maintenance of ecosystem services" of the Institute for Technological Research - IPT (Call No. 1/2010 (FAPEMIG / FAPESP / Fapespa / VALE SA). This doctoral project aims to identify which environmental services are directly affected by mining activities to extract sand them assess this, create a mechanism for value-added for the final product and the return of value for conservation, preservation, sanitation , among others. Thus, closes a cycle of assessment and payment of environmental services. The monetary values in this study will serve as the basis for other fronts of the project mentioned above. (AU)
