In this project the epidemiology of infectious diseases, represented by researcher of FMUSP/DIM, join up with both mathematical and numerical theories of the researcher Università degli Studi di Torino, Dipartimento di Matematica, Torino, Italy. In addition to the mathematical aspects, this project involves also an important epidemiological focus. Using mathematical models it is possible to evaluate the impact of treatmentin tuberculosis epidemic and formulate strategies for the control of the disease. Thus, the model represents an important tool to understand the public health problems related to the control of such disease and the segments of society affected by it. (AU)
