Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD), also known as chronic renal failure, has become a particularly high incidence of disease in older dogs and cats. Chronic kidney disease (CKD), also known as chronic renal insufficiency, has become a particularly high incidence of disease in dogs and cats older. The present paper studies clinical, laboratory and ultrasound in dogs with chronic kidney disease, encompassing propose a diagnostic routine, get the survey of renal disorders more common in dogs for future deployment of advanced methods of treatment and creating a service of Nephrology. Will be used 80 dogs of both sexes, different races, and weights, coming from the Botucatu region and treated in routine HV / FMVZ / UNESP. The selection criteria for including subjects in the DRC will be based on history, clinical signs, laboratory tests (blood count, chemistry profile, and urinalysis), and ultrasound evaluation. The animals with suspected chronic kidney disease will be driven to the next stage of the study, consisting of the inclusion of these patients as having CKD. Blood will be collected for the animals for determination of CBC, creatinine, urea, albumin, alkaline phosphatase, ALT, GGT, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and iron. Urinalysis will be performed in order to observe the presence of protein and relationship protein/creatinine, besides the routine urinary parameters. It will be held the first ultrasound screening.
