The doctoral thesis in developing IFCH / UNICAMP has as proposal to analyze the Dossiers and Inventory of the Brazilian Historic Gardens to understand how was the preservation of these monument from the first overturning in 1938, federal, and along the twentieth century. And also to identify the Historic Garden category was being constituted for organ preservation federal (IPHAN), within the discussions of the heritage and urban cultures, reflecting on the perception of these spaces, nowadays, as a category of Cultural Landscape. The objective of Research Training in Portugal is not to compare what is in there with what is practiced in Brazil, they are cultures, procedures and very specific assets and their own trajectories. However, the idea is to experience them in perspective, within their context and ambience. This way, the main purpose to be achieved and to know the theoretical field / academic as regards the heritage and urban cultures of Portugal, which include the Historic Gardens, as well as investigate the actions of the instruments of preserving and safeguarding of the portugueses institutes.
