Abstract

This project has as goal the development of composites obtained by a mixture of sugarcane bagasse ash with thermoplastic elastomers, by copolymerization of low-density polyethylene with natural rubber, along with curing agents (activators and accelerators), aimed to obtain materials with properties to technological applications. In the first step will be carried the mixture in a solid medium, with different proportions of SBA inserted in NR together with the curing agents aimed at increasing the chemical and physical properties of natural rubber. This mixture will be made through the shear of materials in an open mixer drum. The second step consists in copolymerizing the NR/SBA with low-density polyethylene (LDPE). The copolymerization process is conducted in an apparatus using a torque rheometer rotors HAAKE extruder. After the process of the rheometer material is molded in press-shaped thermoelectric rectangular plates so that they can perform the studies of their physical and chemical properties. The composites are characterized using the techniques of infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), micro Raman spectroscopy, optical microscopy (OM), mechanical testing, and thermal analysis (DSC, DMA, TG, and TG / FT-IR). According to the results obtained will be a potential direction for industrial and commercial applications of the newly developed material. (AU)
