Abstract The present project aims to study the Hetero Diels-Alder reaction (HDA), as a tool to construct alfa, beta-unsaturated delta-lactones, an important structural moiety present in natural products such as goniothalamin and fostriecin which display biological activity against cancer. We plan to study two asymmetric HDA methods, one based on the Jacobsen's catalyst, the other using Lewis acids and chiral beta-alkoxy-aldehydes to create new asymmetric centers. (AU) | |
