Abstract

Neck pain (CV) or nonspecific pain in the neck is a generic term that is painful signs and symptoms involving the neck region. The relationship between CV and the period of adolescence is associated with factors that change directly in the neck muscle activity, such as awake ward postures, excessive practice of physical activities and how they deal with stress; the idiopathic postural changes curvature physiological and can reduce respiratory capacity and trigger systemic disturbances that lead to early muscle fatigue. Such individuals are also influenced by hormonal and physiological changes by behavioral factors that maintain a direct relationship in the way he deals with stress. This study aims to verify the effects of therapy with low-level laser in the trapezius and sternocleidomastoid muscles in adolescents with Neck pain, through assessment: EMG, cervical range of motion, and patterns of postural muscle fatigue will be evaluated by resistance of the extensor muscles of the neck, the level of stress will be determined by salivary cortisol levels, the pain will be measured by a pressure algometer, the neck pain will be determined by the Neck Disability Index (NDI). This is a randomized, controlled clinical study in patients with neck pain blindly distributed between the groups. The data is analyzed statistically. The study will follow the standards regulating research on human subjects with submission to the Ethics Committee in Research of Universidade Nove de Julho. Students will be evaluated, regardless of race, between 14 and 20 years, presenting a picture of CV acute or chronic. The selected participants will be divided into three groups: control, placebo and intervention with laser. The intervention group will receive placebo and two sessions per week with low-level laser for a total of 14 sessions. The placebo group will receive 14 more laser sessions after the final evaluation of the placebo sessions. All groups will be reassessed immediately after completion of therapy and 30 and 90 days follow-up.
