Abstract

The Network for the Prevention of Accidents - REPAT/USP, established in 2003, showed the results of surveys that the occurrence of occupational accidents among hospital workers is still a problem to be tackled by institutions due to high occurrence and the adverse consequences that lead workers and institutions. The research project presented here this is an exploratory study that aims to analyze the occurrence of accidents involving exposure to biological material among nursing staff at a university hospital and analyze the consequences of exposure to employees and institutions. Work accidents with exposure to biological material occurring between 2012 and 2013will be collected through consultation in the Occupational Health Service, after the identification of victims of occupational accidents will be interviewed in order to ascertain the consequences of occupational exposure. Are also interviews with the heads of these professionals to identify immediate consequences caused to the organization of work. Data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of the studies bring to scientific advances and subsidies work practices at the hospital mainly as regards the prevention of accidents and measures to control them.(AU)
