Abstract

After the promulgation of the brazilian Law n. 11.274/06, which increased fundamental education to nine years, many researchers have focused on this issue. In order to discuss this proposal and investigate how it happened in practice, researchers concentrated on the assessment of the difficulties, problems, distress, successes and failures experienced by schools of different localities. Considering the large number of productions in the area, it is now possible and necessary to evaluate the amount of published work for investigation about how the process of implementing the nine-year fundamental education is occurring. This research project aims to carry out this investigation through the analyses of the differences and similarities observed in differents researchs and the contributions and issues raised from nine-year fundamental education. The method will be a systematic review, limiting the sample to empirical research, conducted from 2006 to 2012. The sources will be articles, theses and dissertations published in the electronic databases Scielo, PePSIC, Anped and BDTD. Thus, it is believed that it will be possible to deepen the analysis and discussion of this policy of expansion of fundamental education and understand its implications for education.
