The sheep industry cutting presents itself as an increasingly important economic activity for the country and has seen intense efforts of several groups seeking to promote improvements in livestock productivity and these can be achieved using genetic selection, where genetic parameters features of interest are utlizadas as an aid in developing strategies to maximize genetic gain for traits of economic importance. The characteristics of maternal skills are important for increasing productivity and knowing the possible potential of Santa Ines, it is necessary to estimate the genetic parameters that can be performed with greater precision the selection and comparison with other races. Will use the database belonging to the Association Sergipana Breeders Sheep and Goats (ASCCO) Santa Ines. The characteristics are evaluated: total number of lambs, the total weight of pups at birth and weaning, weaning ratio, age at first calving and calving interval . Estimates of (co) variance for the characteristics are obtained by restricted maximum likelihood. For estimation will be used WOMBAT software and features will be analyzed as single-and multi-feature characteristics from an animal model.
